Madras week events

22nd – Screening of documentary ‘An American in Madras’ from 2.30 p.m. to 4.15 p.m. The documentary traces American born filmmaker Ellis R. Dungan’s years in India as a celebrated director in the Tamil film industry from 1935-50. At U.S. Consulate General, Chennai (Auditorium), Cathedral Road entrance, Gemini Circle. All visitors are requested to arrive by 2 p.m. with a valid photo ID (in original).

25thAnglo-Indian Crafts and Cuisine Fair, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at St. George’s School campus (opp. Pachayappa’s College, Poonamallee High Road. All are welcome.

Hosted by the Forum of Anglo Indian Women, the fair will showcase the many crafts designed for homes and orders by Anglo Indian(AI) families of Madras in the past, and the mouth-watering food the families cooked at homes in Royapuram, Vepery and Perambur. The Fair will offer sales of craftworks and products of current AI entrepreneurs and have food stalls.
